ABOUT OUR CAST
Norman Askew: Norman Askew is a graduate of Hertford County High School. After high school, he attended ECU where he earned a B.A. in psychology. Norman is currently employed with The Ahoskie Police Dept and is a Volunteer Fireman with St. John Fire Department. He owns and operates Northeastern Glass Company in Ahoskie. Norman has a beautiful daughter, Addi, whose interest in the theatre and the Gallery's Summer Youth Theatre Workshop rekindled his own interest. He has appeared in numerous Gallery productions. Are You Being Served? was Norman's directorial debut. Norman is member of The Gallery Theatre's Board of Directors and serves as its treasurer.
Tony Jenkins: Tony Jenkins is from Murfreesboro, NC. He is married to Allison Jenkins. He has been cast in numerous Gallery Theatre productions including several musicals ever since he made his stage debut in the Gallery Theatre's production of The Nerd in 2015. He has also worked behind the scenes in other productions designing and building sets as well as designing stage lighting. He had his directorial debut in 2018 when he directed the Gallery Theatre's production of The Foreigner. Tony has served on the Gallery Theatre's board of directors since 2015 and currently holds the office of president of the board.
Michael K. Spruill: Michael is a native Windsorian with a degree in Psychology from Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College) in Wilson, NC. He is retired from the newspaper business and enjoys a part-time job at Historic Hope Foundation in Windsor. He took a suggestion from a fellow thespian in the early 1990s to take a bit part in a play, and he has been hooked ever since. Now a seasoned veteran of The Gallery, his latest works were seen in "To Kill A Mockingbird" and "The Crucible".
Tim Flanagan: A Southern Jersey transplant who wanted a new life and found it here in Murfreesboro. Tim & his wife Teresa run the Flanagan House Bed & Breakfast, as well as Whats Happening Media here in the boro. Tim has been in countless productions, two independent movies and loves the theatre very much. The Odd Couple is Tim's directorial debut.
Douglas W Askew: Douglas is a native of Winton NC on the banks of the Chowan River. He serve 23 years in United States Army. After retiring from the military, Dougie taught High School for a few years. Doug worked in the entertainment Community with several different bands from the area. He got his first taste of the theater was during the womanless beauty pageant in 2019. Now Doug he’s cutting his teeth for the first time on stage of the Gallery in the Odd Couple.
Colleen Curley: Colleen Curley is excited to be performing in the Odd Couple as Gwendolyn Pigeon. She has had leading roles in the Gallery productions of The Crucible as Abigail and Little Women as Meg. Colleen has also worked with the The Hurrah Players of Norfolk in their production of Hurrah For The Holidays and was Mason in Hurrah’s Madagascar. She thanks her parents for always encouraging her to pursue her dreams. Colleen hopes to continue to be actively involved with local theater and to peruse further education in classical arts, theater, dance, and music while still in high school and later in undergraduate studies.
Dale Harrington: A bard of the stage, his roots are in Virginia but his heart is in Carolina. He was a Longwood Lancer during the 80’s, where he obtained a degree in Health & Physical Education. While balancing life as a firefighter and Dog Behaviorist, he moved into the acting world as an ensemble player on various crime re-enactment TV shows and writing/directing/starring in dramas for his local church. He even managed to shimmy his way onto the set of the Firefighter movie Ladder 49, where he “acted” as an Extra. He enjoys a good whiskey, woodworking, and taking care of friends & family.... and letting Cecily write his bio.
Jayme Leigh: Born & raised in West Virginia to a coal miner and the World's Best Mom. First introduced to acting when she volunteered to play piano for an evening church service knowing she really didn't know how. Recently moved to Murfreesboro and now call it home. Enjoys making people laugh, vintage clothing, gin & tonics, and time with Oscar.
